Our first cross country meet of the season was our own race, the 6th Annual Green Hill Invitational. This year, the race was held at night so the runners weren’t affected by the blistering Nashville summer heat.
Varsity Team as a Freshman
After training all summer and in the weeks since school started, I made the Varsity roster as a Freshman. It’s such an honor to run with so many top runners, and I’m glad to represent our school in this race.
Green Hill Invitational Results
It was my first race of the season, so I wasn’t sure how it would go. I know that I put in the work, but with it being a night race and a few dark spots on the track, it’s hard to know.
I ended up running the 5K in 17:46, which is a full minute faster than my qualifying time from June when we held tryouts. I’m thrilled with the results. I placed 16th overall out of 172 runners. And our team placed 1st overall out of 22 teams.

Next Race: Voyles Classic
My next race is the MSCCA Voyles Classic on September 6, 2025. It is also held at The Hermitage, so it will be a great opportunity to see how much I can improve my time in the next two weeks. Plus, it will be in the morning, so it will be easier to watch where I’m running.
Later that evening, I have my first NAL soccer match of the season. We play One Knox 2011 Boys NAL in Murfreesboro, TN, at Richard Siegel Soccer Complex at 5 pm.
