After training with the team this summer, cross country season is now upon us. We practice four days a week and attend meets on the weekend. Jumping from 2 miles in middle school to 5K in high school is a much different race, even when running at the same locations.

We’re running a variety of courses as we challenge each other and compete against other schools. Here is the Green Hill High School Cross Country schedule for Fall 2025 (and my results).

• Aug 23 – Green Hill Invitational at The Hermitage in Hermitage, TN (night race)
  • 17:46 (New PR)(Varsity: Individual 16th/172 runners; Team 1st/22 teams)
• Sept 6 – MSCAA Voyles Classic at The Hermitage in Hermitage, TN
  • 17:14 (New PR)(Varsity: Individual 70th/358 runners; Team 10th/42 teams)
• Sept 20 – Burnett Invitational at Cookeville High School in Cookeville, TN
  • 17:49 (Varsity: Individual 7/99 runners; Team 1st/15 teams)
• Oct 4 – Jesse Owens Classic at Oakville Indian Mounds Park in Oakville, AL
  • 17:12 (New PR)(Varsity: Individual 58/406 runners; Team 4/50 teams)

Cross Country Championships

We’re off to a great start by placing first at the Green Hill Invitational. If we continue to run well, then we have a good shot at the local, regional, and state championships.

• Nov 7 – TSSAA D1 Class AAA State Cross Country Championship 2025 at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, TN
  • 17:14 (Varsity: Individual 100/262 runners; Team 15/32 teams)
